Pablo Pagán, nacido en 2001, es un director, guionista y productor de origen valenciano.
A los 16 años dirige y produce su primer cortometraje "Pawns": una crónica de la Guerra Civil española, contada a través de los ojos de la generación Z. Financiado casi exclusivamente a través de crowdfunding, fue seleccionado en numerosos festivales alrededor del mundo, ganando el premio a Mejor Cortometraje Internacional en el prestigioso festival "AAHSFF" de Nueva York, el mayor festival estudiantil del mundo, convirtiéndose en el primer cortometraje español premiado en la historia del certamen; además de obtener dos premios en Cinemajove – Festival Internacional de Cine de Valencia.
Después de terminar su primer cortometraje, cursa la carrera de Cinematografía en ESCAC, donde dirige sus próximos cortometrajes, los cuales se estrenan en varios festivales nacionales e internacionales, entre los que destacan: Quartmetratges (Premio del público), Festival de Cine Fantástico de Navarra (Mención Especial del Jurado) y Cinemajove a nivel nacional. A nivel internacional forma parte del Cinefantasy (Brasil), Melrose IFF (EE. UU.), y el PFFF (Corea del Sur), entre otros. Simultáneamente, participa como programador en el Festival Internacional de Cine Fantástico de Manises, así como como jurado joven en el prestigioso Festival Internacional de Cine de Giffoni.
Actualmente se encuentra en proceso de distribución de su último cortometraje "Voyager", un híbrido entre el neo-noir y el fantástico. Producida por ESCAC Films, y parcialmente financiada a través de crowdfunding, se ha estrenado en algunos de los festivales de género más prestigiosos del mundo, entre los que destacan: Screamfest (Los Angeles) y el Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (Bélgica), además de hacerse con el premio del público en el 23º Landshut Film Festival (Alemania).
Pablo Pagán, born in 2001, is a film director, writer and producer from Valencia.
At the age of 16, he directs and produces his first short film "Pawns": a first hand look inside the Spanish Civil War, told through the eyes of gen Z. Financed almost exclusively through crowdfunding, it was selected in numerous festivals all around the world, winning the award for Best International Short Film at the prestigious "AAHSFF" festival in New York, the largest student festival in the world, becoming the first Spanish short film awarded in the history of the contest; in addition to obtaining two awards at Cinemajove – Valencia International Film Festival.
After finishing his first film, he enrolls in a film program at ESCAC, where he directs his upcoming short films, which go on to premiere at several international festivals, including: Quartmetratges (Spain, Audience Award Winner), Navarra Fantastic Film Festival (Spain, Special Jury Mention), Cinemajove (Spain), Cinefantasy (Brazil), Melrose IFF (USA), and the PFFF (South Korea). Simultaneously, he participates as a programmer in the Manises International Fantastic Film Festival, as well as a young jury in the prestigious Giffoni International Film Festival.
He is currently in the distribution process of his latest short film "Voyager", a neo-noir thriller with fantastic elements. Produced by ESCAC Films, and partially financed through crowdfunding, it premiered in some of the world biggest genre film festivals, including: Screamfest (Los Angeles) and Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (Belgium), while also winning the Audience Award at the 23rd Landshut Film Festival.
